The Challenge
Titirangi Golf Club, home to New Zealand’s only Alister MacKenzie-designed course, needed a more effective irrigation water-storage solution for its grounds.
Its existing system relied on several smaller tanks, limiting the amount of water available for overnight irrigation. The club needed substantially greater storage capacity, but the available installation area restricted the tank footprint to approximately 15 metres in diameter.
The Solution
A custom irrigation water storage tank was selected to provide the required capacity within the constrained site. Rather than increasing the tank footprint, a six-metre-high configuration enabled the club to achieve the necessary storage volume while remaining within the available space.
Installation was scheduled for winter, when the irrigation system was not in active use. Following completion of the groundworks by the club, the tank was assembled in two sections: the lower section in its final location and the upper section nearby, before being craned into position.

Two installation crews worked simultaneously on the upper and lower tank sections, helping to make the build efficient and minimise disruption during the available winter installation window.
